NEW AMERICAN ABSTRACT MODERN EXPRESSIONISM is how I would describe my personal artistic style. Working many years as a public school art educator my students learned about artist and their techniques styles and movements. I then reflected on my own artwork and felt the  need to understand the best way to describe my work. I am naturally an Expressionist! I truly believe that all people are expressionist at heart because the Expressionistic style is attached to human emotion rather than reality. NAAME  is my reflection of the Expressionism in which I utilizes all of my natural creative ability as well as the many years of  studio art application and professional practice.  My experience of being a professional artist as a teenager has allowed me as an adult artist the knowledge   me to achieve the concepts that I visualize for my fine art work.                                    NAAME derives from the expressionistic core that I always want to preserve while also recognizing the Modern and Abstract nature of my work.  The mix of bold and supple stokes and the prominent  use of contrasting colors allows the dimensions emerge. The themes of my pieces usually comes organically from my subconsciously imagination inspired by the many elements of our world. The past, present and future of our human experiences and emotion will always be a subject matter that I  relate to. The NEW in NAAME Art represents all that new should signify. It also pays homage to New Orleans the city of my roots where art and creativity in woven into the city's culture. AMERICAN signifies the creative contribution from the perspective of a Black American Artist to the world.
